OUR VENDOR OF THE WEEK:
Our vendors of the week will be Darren & Espri Bender-Beauregard of Brambleberry Farm. They sell organic produce and herbs picked fresh from their Paoli garden, eggs from their free range chickens and whole wheat breads and rolls. If you are visiting their booth when the timer rings, you’ll get a coupon!
REPORT FROM LAST WEEK’S MARKET:
It was a stunningly beautiful morning for our market opening day. We had 42 vendors. We registered 21 vendors. We'd like to welcome a new vendor, Catherine Ernst, of Milltown who had lovely spring produce, chocolate-cinnamon rolls and aprons she made herself. We had many visitors returning to the market. There were 90 shoppers at any given time. Robert Henderson, Town of Orleans president, spoke about the park's history and officially welcomed the farmers market during our Opening Day ceremonies. Mary Mininger, of the Paoli Mennonite Fellowship Church, blessed the market. Bob Turner, Orange County HomeGrown Board president, christened our new Buck-a-Book Trailor. Jesse Smith, accompanied by Pete Webb, sang "Summertime" to an appreciative crowd. She and Pete then joined the many jammers and played music the rest of the morning. Many children and adults had fun with hoola hoops brought to the market by a volunteer.
OTHER GREAT FEATURES AT THE MARKET:
Be sure to stop by and see our new BUCK A BOOK/BOOK A BOOK TRAILOR where you browse a great selection of books. We welcome the donations of books for the book trailor. All money from book sales goes to support Orange County HomeGrown Farmers Market. Just bring the books to the BUCK A BOOK/BOOK A BOOK TRAILOR and choose a book for free. Visit us at the Host Tent and have a free cup of coffee courtesy of our neighbor, Maple Street Restaurant.
We are fortunate to have friendly, helpful MASTER GARDENERS at every market. Bring your gardening questions to the MASTER GARDENER TABLE and they will be very happy to help you! Our master gardeners will have for reference a water garden book at their table for those wishing guidance with their water gardens.
