THIS WEEK’S EVENTS:
It’s Kid’s Day at the Market! Tri Kappa will provide wonderfully fun activities for the children. There will be a puppet show, kid photos and special guest, Sponge Bob! Children who participate will receive a coupon to spend at the Market. Our wonderful vendors plan to have some items just for the kids. What a great way for your children to experience how our local economy works. Local children’s author, Marilyn D. Anderson, will be on hand to show off her many children’s books. Singer songwriter, Melinda Sketo, will share her music with us! Bring the kids and join in all the fun!

OUR VENDOR OF THE WEEK: Our vendors of the week will be Mary Padgett and Jessica Condra. Sweet Mary has been with our market for years. She sells handmade chair pads and hot pads from her bicycle. Jessica sells yummy baked goods and candies. If you are visiting their booth when the timer rings, you’ll get a coupon!

REPORT FROM LAST WEEK’S MARKET:
It was a cloudy cool morning at the market. We had 45 vendors. We registered 10 vendors, including a vendor from Dubois County who sold certified organic hot house tomatoes and salsa! We had visitors from Florida and Washington D.C. this week. Larry Gillen and Helen Vasquez of Orange County HomeGrown River Watch were quite busy with the many visitors who came to their display of creatures from local waters and educating children and adults about how to keep our waterways clean and healthy.

OTHER GREAT FEATURES AT THE MARKET:
Be sure to stop by and see our new BUCK A BOOK/BOOK A BOOK TRAILOR where you browse a great selection of books. We welcome the donations of books for the book trailor. All money from book sales goes to support Orange County HomeGrown Farmers Market. Just bring the books to the BUCK A BOOK/BOOK A BOOK TRAILOR and choose a book for free. Visit us at the Host Tent and have a free cup of coffee courtesy of our neighbor, Maple Street Restaurant.
We are fortunate to have friendly, helpful MASTER GARDENERS at every market. Bring your gardening questions to the MASTER GARDENER TABLE and they will be very happy to help you! Our master gardeners will have for reference a water garden book at their table for those wishing guidance with their water gardens.
