THIS WEEK’S EVENTS:
It’s going to be really great at the Market this week! For the first time, the Tri County Antique Farm Association will show off their antique tractors at the Market. We’re glad they’ll be joining us! In addition to the fun music provided by our own Farmers Market Jammers, we’ll also have special music by Don Smelser and Friends.

SPECIAL REQUEST:
The Buck-a-Book Trailer is in need of used children’s books. Please consider clearing off your bookshelves and donating books for the kids! Thanks a heap!

OUR VENDOR OF THE WEEK:
Paul King will be our featured vendor this week. He and his family sell wonderful produce grown right in their French Lick garden. If you are visiting his booth when the timer rings, you’ll get a coupon!

REPORT FROM LAST WEEK’S MARKET: Despite the rainy morning, we had 35 vendors, 8 volunteers, a tent load of musicians and lots of devoted customers show up at the Market. We registered 3 vendors. We even had visitors all the way from the Dakotas! Market visitor, Clyde, stopped by the Host Tent and recited a poem called “When Tomorrow Starts Without Me.” You can sure tell that summer has arrived by the bounty of lovely local produce! The baked goods always seem to sell out early. The Red Cross was busy with blood donations and by 11:00 they had already collected 16 pints. At that time, it began to raining pretty heavily, so our vendors and customers had to pack it up a little early. However, the Red Cross was still at it. We’ll send a final pint count when we get word from them. Thanks a heap to all the presenting donors, especially for those first timers!

OTHER GREAT FEATURES AT THE MARKET:
Be sure to stop by and see our new BUCK A BOOK/BOOK A BOOK TRAILOR where you browse a great selection of books. We welcome the donations of books for the book trailer. All money from book sales goes to support Orange County HomeGrown Farmers Market. Just bring the books to the BUCK A BOOK/BOOK A BOOK TRAILOR and choose a book for free. Visit us at the Host Tent and have a free cup of coffee courtesy of our neighbor, Maple Street Restaurant. We are fortunate to have friendly, helpful MASTER GARDENERS at every market. Bring your gardening questions to the MASTER GARDENER TABLE and they will be very happy to help you! Our master gardeners will have for reference a water garden book at their table for those wishing guidance with their water gardens. Learn more about the LOST RIVER COMMUNTIY CO-OP which will be opening a new grocery store in Paoli this fall. You’ll be able to get a sneak preview of what the store will look like plus its floor plan. You can even sign up to be a member!

MORE WONDERFUL PRODUCE AND GOODS ON THURSDAYS:
Be sure to visit the Orange County HomeGrown Valley Market on Thursdays from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. now located at the French Lick Town Parking Lot between the dime store and the police station.
