Dear Friends of Orange County HomeGrown,
We have finished our 2007 Farmers Market season. We wish to send you a big thank you for all of your support this past year. Thank you, thank you!
We'll rest up this winter and make plans for next season.
We also want to tell you about some great things happening in Orange County. They are listed below.
The third annual Orange County HomeGrown Holiday Market is Saturday, November 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Paoli High School. There will be about 50 of our vendors there selling locally made baked goods, gifts and crafts for your holiday needs. There will be live entertainment by local musicians. Lunch will be available too! Be sure to make plans to begin your holiday shopping and spend your dollars locally.
Be sure to stop by the new member-owned food co-op, Lost River Market & Deli. They sell natural foods, bulk foods, local and organic produce, local meats, local cheeses, conventional items and much more. There is seating available if you wish to eat a delicious soup, sandwich or salad prepared by the deli. The store is located on 26 Library Street right off the Paoli Square behind the library. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Check out their website for more information http://www.lostrivercoop.com/index.html
Did you know that Orange County now has a Recycling Co-op and Resale Store? It's located on Water Street in Paoli. You can recycle day or night. They will take the following items: cardboard, newspapers, junk mail, paper, magazines, catalogues, plastic bottles #1 and #2, aluminum cans, scrap metal, metal cans, plastic grocery bags, bubble wrap, shrink wrap, appliances such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, air conditioners, and microwaves, computer equipment, cell phones, car batteries and bagged packing peanuts. Please rinse out plastic bottles and remove lids. Also, rinse out cans. Please break down cardboard boxes. The resale store is open rain or shine Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to noon and Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon. They sell household goods, books, home decor, furniture, appliances, and building materials. Keep good clean used items out of the landfill by donating to the resale store. Remember to reduce, reuse and recycle. If you have more questions about the Orange County Recycling Co-op, you wish to volunteer, and/or you wish to purchase shares at $25 each, just call 653-0526 and ask for John.
Please send this along to your family and friends!
Sincerely,
Alice Wootton, volunteer
