REPORT FROM LAST WEEK’S MARKET: It was a cloudless, very warm day at the Market. We had 46 vendors. We registered 5 vendors including two new vendors. We had over 125 visitors throughout the morning. We had visitors from California, Virginia and New York. Our Jam Tent was overflowing with musicians filling the park with their wonderful music including special guest musician, Melinda Sketo. Local children’s author, Marilyn Anderson, set up a table with her many books she’s written. It was Kids Day at the Market and we had lots for them to do. Tri Kappa performed two puppet shows, “The Lion and the Mouse” and “The True Story of the Three Little Pigs.” They also had a craft table set up and a photo booth. Sponge Bob and Dora the Explorer made an appearance and delighted our young visitors. Many of our vendors made up special items for the children which were purchased with coupons given to the young ones for participating in the Kids Day events.
OTHER GREAT FEATURES AT THE MARKET: Be sure to stop by and see our new BUCK A BOOK/BOOK A BOOK TRAILOR where you browse a great selection of books. We welcome the donations of books for the book trailor. All money from book sales goes to support Orange County HomeGrown Farmers Market. Just bring the books to the BUCK A BOOK/BOOK A BOOK TRAILOR and choose a book for free. Visit us at the Host Tent and have a free cup of coffee courtesy of our neighbor, Maple Street Restaurant. We are fortunate to have friendly, helpful MASTER GARDENERS at every market. Bring your gardening questions to the MASTER GARDENER TABLE and they will be very happy to help you! Our master gardeners will have for reference a water garden book at their table for those wishing guidance with their water gardens.
