THIS WEEK’S EVENTS:
There will be plenty of events this week to keep you pleasantly busy at the Market. The Red Cross Blood Drive will take place from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Presenting donors will receive a gift from the Red Cross, a $2.00 coupon to spend at the Market and a coupon to spend at the newly opened Blue Spot Coffee Shop, another of our friendly neighbors in Orleans. The Earth Mamas Dance Troupe will once again entertain. Around 10:00 a.m., Alice will cook up some decadent French toast using Cathy Davison’s bread, Farmers Market eggs and Vance Elliott’s maple syrup. To wash the sampling of French toast down, The Blue Spot Coffee Shop will provide a tasting of their lattes. And, as always, we’ll have fun music provided by our own Farmers Market Jammers! Bring your instrument and/or your singing voice and join in.

SPECIAL REQUEST:
The Buck-a-Book Trailer is in need of some used classics for the adults. Please consider clearing off your bookshelves and donating books. Thanks a heap!

OUR VENDOR OF THE WEEK: Vance Elliott, Pam Mundy and Shelley Jackson will be our vendors of the week. Vance sells produce and also maple syrup made from the trees on his Orleans farm. He’ll provide the maple syrup for the French toast Alice is making this week at the Market. Pam, along with her buddy Shelley, make unique hypertufa pots, miniature herb gardens, bird houses and signs. If you are visiting our Vendor of the Week booths when the timer rings, you’ll get a coupon!

REPORT FROM LAST WEEK’S MARKET: We were all expecting (and hoping for) at least a little rain for our farmers/gardeners that afternoon, but it never came to pass. We had cloudy skies and a nice breeze instead. We had 51 vendors. We registered 3 new vendors. We even welcomed another new volunteer. Our visitor count each hour hovered around 100. Bonnie Burton-Taylor showed visitors how to salsa dance while Alice grilled pizza using produce, pizza dough and pesto bought at the Market that very morning. Our faithful Farmers Market Jammers played away all morning.

OTHER GREAT FEATURES AT THE MARKET: Be sure to stop by and see our new BUCK A BOOK/BOOK A BOOK TRAILOR where you can browse a great selection of books. We welcome the donations of books for the book trailer. All of the money from book sales goes to support Orange County HomeGrown Farmers Market (Orleans). Just bring the books to the BUCK A BOOK/BOOK A BOOK TRAILOR and choose a book for free. Visit us at the Host Tent and have a free cup of coffee courtesy of our neighbor, Maple Street Restaurant. We are fortunate to have friendly, helpful MASTER GARDENERS at every market. Bring your gardening questions to the MASTER GARDENER TABLE and they will be very happy to help you! Learn more about the LOST RIVER COMMUNTIY CO-OP which will be opening a new grocery store in Paoli this fall. You’ll be able to get a sneak preview of what the store will look like and see its floor plan. You can even sign up to be a member!

IMPORTANT VALLEY MARKET ANNOUNCEMENT:
The Orange County HomeGrown Valley Market is open on Thursdays from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Be sure to visit the Orange County HomeGrown Valley Market now located at the French Lick Town Parking Lot between the dime store and the police station.
